An absolute gem, which we have discussed keeping for ourselves!

Believed to be an Alpine farmers market back-pack / carrier. Slots for leather straps and cruciform construction for hanging wares. A small box, which forms a lovely shelf, perhaps to hold lunch for the journey to market?

Some items resonate with history and life lived - this is full of character and I have never seen another. This item needs to be seen in store and is not available online. 

Suggested use - hang on peg rail for a primitive (Shaker) aesthetic. Can be wall or surface mounted. A perfect focal point and conversation piece for a beautiful kitchen or entrance wall.
